Vintage Buttercream Baby Shower Cake with Elephant Topper

I recently made this two tier baby shower cake decorated in the lightest shade of teal, almost like seafoam. The color palette was inspired by the event décor, but I softened the tone slightly to create something delicate and feminine for a baby girl celebration.

This cake was designed with vintage style buttercream piping, one of my favorite techniques to work with. The entire cake is covered in hand piped details including ruffles, garlands, tiny flowers, and scrollwork that wrap around both tiers. Each element is piped individually, which gives the cake its textured and layered look.

At the top of the cake sits a small elephant made from sugar paste. The little elephant topper was designed to match the soft pastel tones of the cake and adds a playful detail that makes the design perfect for a baby shower.

I create custom cakes for baby showers, birthdays, weddings, and celebrations throughout Northern Virginia. Each cake is designed specifically for the event and often inspired by the invitation, color palette, or overall style of the celebration.
