Creating a set of cookies inspired by The Nutcracker ballet is an absolute delight for me! It's a cherished theme during the holiday season, and I find immense joy in bringing it to life each time. These cookies were crafted with inspiration from the delightful designs of the Wilde Peach Party collection, perfect to be shared as favors at a special little girl's first birthday celebration.

Did you know that The Nutcracker Ballet made its debut at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia, on December 17, 1892? Marius Petipa, a renowned choreographer, commissioned the esteemed Russian composer Peter Tchaikovsky to create the ballet, and the score drew inspiration from Alexandre Dumas' adaptation of E.T.A Hoffmann's tale.

However, it wasn't until Christmas Eve of 1944 that the San Francisco Ballet introduced "The Nutcracker" to its repertoire. Subsequently, it wasn't until the 1960s that the full-fledged production of the "Nutcracker" ballet gained substantial traction, evolving into an enduring Christmas tradition cherished across the United States.
